If you could trade one hour a week for a hundred people making your job easier, would you? If you could save your colleagues an hour—or a day—of work, would you try? If your answer to either question is yes, we want to hear from you.
Here’s how you can help:
Click the links above or see below to find out more about each kind of contribution. If you’d like to contribute, or just to find out more about the CCI, please fill out the short form on this page. An ITCi manager will contact you to talk about your interests.
Many managers and companies initiate internal control cross-mapping projects, unaware that the work has already been done by many other companies and managers.
We’ve heard this scenario many times from ITCi members. Until now, professionals have had no organized way to share, vet, and compare mapping efforts with knowledgeable peers. One function of the CCI is to facilitate that connection and collaboration.
By contributing your control cross-mapping documents, you’ll provide a giant jump-start for CCI community efforts—and a great service to your peers. We’re not asking for sensitive or proprietary information; only what you’re comfortable contributing. Your contributions will be kept anonymous unless you specifically request attribution.
The Control Mapping Project is organized around workgroups tasked with specific projects goals and deadlines. As a workgroup leader, you can define a mapping project focusing on the regulations and frameworks most relevant to you. You’ll guide and facilitate discussion among your group, set deadlines, and help track and QA deliverables. ITCi staff will also work with you along the way, providing support and tools to ease your efforts.
Workgroup leadership is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience managing cross-functional groups. You’ll also get a first look at the group products and be able to use them for your own purposes. The time commitment should be no more than one or two hours per week, and no certification or specific experience is required.
Workgroup members contribute as they are able to analyze small sets of regulations and frameworks, document indicated control requirements, and write consolidated control statements that address similar requirements across the regulation set.
